Psalm 83:1-18

Chapter 83
A song. A psalm of Asaph. 1 A song. A psalm. Of Asaph. O God, do not keep silent; do not be deaf; do not be quiet, O God. 2 Look, your enemies make an uproar, and those who hate you raise their heads. 3 They secretly plot against your people and conspire against your treasured ones. 4 They said, "Come, let us wipe them out as a nation, so that the name of Israel may be remembered no more." 5 For they have counseled together with one heart against you; they have cut a covenant. 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites. 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre. 8 Assyria also has joined with them; they are the arm of the sons of Lot. Selah. 9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin at the Wadi Kishon. 10 They were destroyed at En Dor; they became dung for the ground. 11 May their nobles be destroyed like Oreb and like Zeeb and like Zebah and like Zalmunna, all their princes. 12 who said, "Let us dispossess for ourselves the pleasant places of God." 13 God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind. 14 As fire burns a forest and as a flame sets the mountains ablaze. 15 So pursue them with your storm and terrify them with your tempest. 16 Fill their faces with shame so that they seek your name, LORD. 17 Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever, and let them be confounded and perish. 18 And they will know that you, whose name is the LORD, alone are the Most High over all the earth.
